As of late Monday afternoon, Bishop Harry Jackson remains as a signatory on the Covenant for Civility, the document seemingly written for the Body of Christ, yet signed by apostate Brian McLaren and others.
Bishop Jackson has reportedly sent a message as recently as last Friday, stating he wants his name taken off the list.
Had the document been a generic plea for civility, or written in general terms, there would be no problem. But this is not the case. The covenant begins, “As Christian pastors and leaders…”
The Covenant for Civility has been signed by many pro-gay rights individuals, thus placing Bishop Harry Jackson, who led the fight against same-sex marriage in Washington D.C., in an untenable position.
